Epicenter Festival Set for Rockingham, NC

The Carolina Rebellion Festival in Rockingham, NC has been replaced by a new festival featuring some of the biggest rock names around. The inaugural Epicenter Festival, a three-day event, will happen May 10-12 at the festival grounds in Richmond County. Grounds coincide with camping options provided by Rockingham Dragway and Rockingham Speedway that will allow festival-goers opportunities to continue the party until 2AM every night.

Rockingham Village will offer an extraordinary experience for concert attendees, but campers will delight in having access to late night food vendors, after-hours merch shopping, art and other activities. The North Side will host premium spots, while the South Side will have free spots depending on availability.

Headliners include   Foo Fighters, Tool, Korn and 311. Other  bands that will perform include Judas Priest, Rob Zombie, Bring Me The Horizon, The Prodigy, The Cult, Evanescence, Bush, +Live+, and dozens of national and up-and-coming acts from around the world.

Nick Hexum (vocalist/guitarist for 311) said, “   This festival sounds amazing. We're really looking forward to it. What a killer lineup of live rock bands. We are happy to see the torch of live music being played on real instruments alive and well and are grateful to the promoters for putting it on including us.” As for what the band plans to bring to fans, he promises that pieces from their new and upcoming album will find a place on-stage. “We have tricks up our sleeve to debut new elements of our live production.  And new music from the new album is sure to add a lot of excitement.”

Up-and-coming bands Hyro the Hero and Wilson are also planning to bring their best to the festival. While Hyro the Hero has just come off of a Rock Cruise, he says, “I’m really looking forward to this. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do, and I haven’t been touring recently. This show is going to be dope!” Wilson frontman, Chad Nicefield, says the band has played at the old Rebellion Festival but is looking forward to the redesigned space. “I   t’s always a treat. We are a developing act. There are a lot of plus sides to being in that position. Maybe people at the festival haven’t had a chance to check you out. There are so many people attending a festival, that they roam around and stumble across you. That’s where we stand out.”

Festival General Admission tickets begin at $99.50 per day, or $199.50 for the weekend (current prices). VIP weekend passes are now set at $475 and include the following:

Dedicated entrance lanes into the festival

– VIP-only viewing area of the 2 main stages

– Access to the VIP Hang Area, an exclusive hang area for VIPs only
